Vacant quota seats will go to general category: SC September 15, 2008 15:10 IST The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that seats remaining vacant after implementation of the 27 per cent quota under a Parliament-enacted legislation would go to students of the 'general' category. Coverage: The Reservation Issue "There is no confusion about our judgment that seats, which remain vacant after the implementation of the 27 per cent quota, will go to the general category," a bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan said. The bench had on April 10 upheld the validity of the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admissions) Act.
