Three militants of the HuJI, including a commander, were killed on Friday in a fierce gunbattle with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's [Images] Kishtwar district.

Acting on a tip-off, troops of the 11 Rashtriya Rifles launched an operation in Chigam area of the district and in subsequent encounter killed three militants and recovered arms and ammunition from the spot, sources said.

They said two of the slain militants have been identified as Saifulla (area commander) and Mohammad Akbar, while the identity of the third person is yet to be ascertained.
