Seventeen security persons were injured in a powerful landmine blast between Remavand and Gulumpodo villages in Narayanpur district, the police said on Friday.

"Security personnel including Special Task Force, district force and special police officers, were returning from a search operation by an anti-landmine vehicle and one bus, when the naxals triggered the blast," Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav said. The blast was triggered after the ALV cross the point.

The blast took place some 400 km from Raipur.

Following the blast, the front portion of the bus was damaged and 17 security personnel in the bus were injured.

All the injured were immediately rushed to the Narayanpur hospital. Some have been released after administering first aid.
