Bus hostage taker's father demands probe into incident

K P Singh, the father of Rahul Raj, the youth who was killed on Monday by the Mumbai police in a state transport bus after he was suspected of trying to take the passengers hostage, has demanded a high level probe into the incident.

Singh, a resident of Patna, shocked after the news of his son death was broke to him, described the killing of Rahul as an encounter by the Mumbai police. "All the allegations levelled against my son is baseless," Singh said.

Singh told rediff.com in Patna that his son was innocent and killed in an encounter beacuse of a conspiracy. "It should be probed to know the truth," Singh said.

Rahul had gone to Mumbai in search of a job ."Rahul called me on Sunday and told that he was in touch with two private firms for a job" Singh said.

Singh said his son had no criminal record and there was no charges against him at any police station in Patna."My son's killing must be probed to find out how he acquired a revolver," Singh said.

Hundreds of people thronged to his house under Kadamkuan police station after news of Rahul's spread like wildfire.

The Patna district magistrate and superintendent of police also visited his house.

Meanwhile,Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told newspersons in Patna that the Mumbai police should have avoided killing him.
