Navy's submarines are obsolete, admits Antony

Defence Minister A K Antony has admitted to surveillance problems due to shortage of equipments in Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.

Addressing the media in Bangalore, Antony agreed with the Comptroller and Auditor General's report and said that the government had failed to provide the necessary equipments.

The report highlights, glaring gaps existing in India's air surveillance capacity and also states that the Navy's submarine fleet has become obsolete.
