Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray [Images], who was arrested on Tuesday and spent a day in police custody, headed for home after he was granted bail by a Kalyan court in one case and interim relief in another.

The Thane police produced Raj before a magistrate's court in Kalyan where he was granted bail on payment of Rs 15,000.

The Government Railway Police sought the custody of Thackeray in connection with a destruction of property case registered at Kalyan but Thackeray's lawyers said they had sought anticipatory bail in the same case at the Kalyan sessions court.

The magistrate's court granted Thackeray interim relief until October 24 in the GRP case and ordered him to pay a bail amount of Rs 25,000, Raj's lawyer Sayaji Nagre told PTI.

Soon after the court's order Thackeray left for home with his wife and supporters.
