Lanka crisis: Vaiko plans international seminar

Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Vaiko will convene  a two-day international seminar on the alleged atrocities against Sri Lankan Tamils in New Delhi [Images] on January 10-11, 2009. 

Former President APJ Abdul Kalam [Images] is likely to inaugurate the colloquium.   

Tamils settled in the US and European countries have backed,  it is learnt, the MDMK leader in his apparent move to shore up support for the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

Several leaders, including Tamil Nationalist Movement leader P Nedumaran, will speak at the conference. However, it is learnt the DMK will not attend.
