Goa [Images] police on Tuesday booked Education Minister Atanasio Monseratte and his elder son, Rohit, following a complaint by a German woman accusing them of sexually and mentally harassing her minor daughter.

Police sources said initially, only 21-year-old Rohit had been charged with offences, including rape, abetment to crime and outraging the modesty of a minor girl.

Later his father and Goa Eduation Minister too was made co-accused in the case.

A German woman had complained on October 2, that her daughter was being mentally and sexually abused by Rohit.

Police, who initially sat over the complaint, swung into action on Tuesday following the German's threat to approach higher authorities if the accused was not booked.
