Mumbai cops look for Abu Rashid in Azamgarh October 03, 2008 10:09 IST
The Mumbai police on Friday conducted searches at Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh [Images] to trace one of the key members of Indian Mujahideen [Images] suspected to be involved in the recent series of bomb blasts across the country. "The crime branch is looking out for Abu Rashid, who is allegedly one of the key members of the Indian Mujahideen," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria told PTI. The Mumbai crime branch along with the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Uttar Pradesh are conducting searches, Maria said. Abu Rashid has been named by the five alleged IM members arrested in Mumbai by the police two weeks back. They are suspected to be involved in the recent Delhi [Images], Ahmedabad [Images] and other blasts across cities in the country since 2005, Maria said.
