But it was the very queer high-pitched yelling that made it strange. There was the sound of metal clinking, of the car being banged and very violent fisticuffs.

On first sight it seemed much closer to a physical brawl between motorists and the police.

But on closer inspection a few large machine-gun type weapons were visible on the outside of the car and you could hear bullets whizzing and people flying in every direction. A shootout was in progress but the scene resembled nothing of what one may have seen in a movies, but was more about a crude tussle involving raw brute force at very close quarters.
