Mumbai attack: 3 Railway officials killed

A day after the terror attack on the historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, services on the Central Railways were back to normal on Thursday, officials said.

Three railway officials, including Senior Inspector of CST Government Railway Police Shashank Shinde and head constable of the Railway Protection Force M L Chaudhary, were among those killed in the shootout.

The other Central Railway employee killed in the attack was Assisting Chief Ticket Officer S K Sharma.

"We resumed services around 0230 hours after conducting combing operations to ensure it was safe," chief public relations officer (Central Railways) Shriniwas Mudgerikar told PTI.

High security was present at all railway stations on the Central Railway line, he said.

The total number of persons killed in the attack has not yet been ascertained, officials said.
