The Uttar Pradesh government wants the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe the Noida twin murders.

The UP government will send a letter to the Centre recommending a probe by the CBI into the Noida twin murders, Chief Minister Mayawati told mediapersons on Thursday.

The Uttar Pradesh police had arrested Dr Rajesh Talwar on May 23 for the murder of his daughter Aarushi and servant Hemraj.

The police have been criticised for their handling of the case and 'defaming' Aarushi's character.

Further details are awaited.
