Terror revisits Hyderabad, cops clueless
May 20, 2008

Just when normalcy was returning to Hyderabad, the city was rocked yet again three months later.

This time, two blasts took place in quick succession at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat in Hyderabad, leaving nearly 40 persons dead.

Coverage: Twin blasts in Hyderabad

Just a day after the blasts, the police came to the conclusion that the blasts had been carried out by HuJI. It was also said that they would have to coordinate with the CBI as the both the Mecca Masjid and twin blasts case had been carried out by the same persons.

The result too has been the same. Cops have not been able to make any relevant progress in the case. The cops, on one occasion, came close to solving the case when Riazuddin Nasir said during the narco analysis that he was the person who planted the bomb at Lumbini Park.

However, cops were unable to find any evidence despite the man himself confessing on truth serum.
