An Indian-American youth, who returned to New Delhi last month to pursue studies, was on Monday found murdered at his rented house in north-west Delhi.

Kannan Mehra (21), who was pursuing philosophy course in Delhi University, was found with stab wounds on his neck at his residence in Hudson Lane in Mukherjee Nagar by his landlord, a senior police official said.

Mehra had returned to India last month to pursue studies, the official said adding his father Anchal Mehra and mother, an American national, were settled in the United States.

The incident came to light after the landlord went to check his place as the youth was not seen outside for the last two days.

The body of the student has been sent for post-mortem and police is investigating the matter. "A case has been registered and we are probing all angles," the official said.
