A day after they claimed that a nine-year-old Sikh boy found abandoned in a London [Images] bus stop last week was their son Shintu, the parents have sought a DNA test to confirm their  claim.

"We want a DNA test because we are sure that it was our son," Shintu's father Ganga Prasad told rediff.com over telephone from Aurangabad on Wednesday.

"The Centre should intervene and approach the British government to conduct the DNA test," Ganga Prasad said.

Shintu is the nephew of Rashtriya Janata Dal legislator (MLC) Bhim Singh, who had requested Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Bihar DGP A R Sinha to help bring the boy back from London.

He believes Shintu may have been sold to an NRI couple by some kidnappers.

Ganga Prasad said the boy was six years old when he was kidnapped from outside his residence in Kikri in 2005. Three days later, the police lodged a kidnapping case. Till date, the cops have not been able to make any breakthrough in the case.
