Five years on, where Iraq stands

A war on terror, an authoritarian regime, weapons of mass destruction... reasons why a superpower battered Iraq with all its might. Five years after the first American tank rolled into Baghdad's Al-Firdous Square on April 9, 2003 -- signalling the dawn of democracy in the country -- Iraqis are still picking up pieces of their shattered lives.
