Congress parliamentarian Rahul Gandhi [Images] is not happy about his countrywide sojourn being termed as a 'Discover India' tour, saying it was not a 'Bharat Darshan' for him.

The 37-year-old All India Congress Committee general secretary also clarified that the tour, which has been seen as a launch of the party's election campaign, had nothing to do with any poll.

"It is wrong to say that my tour is something like 'Discover India' or 'Bharat Darshan'. I am here to bridge the gap between the leader and his voter," he said.

Rahul, who was on a four-day tour of Orissa, was addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar on the concluding day.

"This is not an election campaign," he categorically stated when asked if he has already kicked-off his campaign for the Lok Sabha polls from BJP-ruled Orissa.

"I have interacted with people on a one-to-one basis and have better understanding about my people. It was a part of an interactive process and a journey of understanding," he said.

When asked if he would continue his tour even after the Lok Sabha polls, Rahul said: "I will continue this for the rest of my life."

Rahul, as part of his visit to Orissa, has visited 13 districts, spending time with the tribals and the youth. He gave anxious moments to the local police while he slipped out of his VVIP accommodation during nights and spent time in the villages, dining with the villagers.

As per sources, the Orissa government is contemplating to register a formal objection with the Union Home Ministry on the 'reckless schedule' of the Congress scion and his elite Special Protection Group team.

During the tour, Rahul had selected some members of the Youth Congress to form a 'Task Force', which would reach the function venues almost couple of days in advance and prepare a threadbare analysis and feasibility report for his visit.

A massive Youth Congress membership drive was also taken up during the tour.

Talking to media persons on Monday, Rahul signalled drastic changes in the way Youth Congress is run and suggested an end of the era of nominated leadership in the organisation.

As a part of the countrywide tour, the Congress leader is slated to visit poll-bound Karnataka next.
