The office of Amitabh Bachchan [Images] Corporation Limited, the production house owned by the actor, was attacked by some unidentified miscreants in Mumbai on Friday. The attackers reportedly threw stones and bottles at the office from inside a car.

"We have received a call that a bottle was thrown at 'Janak' bungalow and police officers have been sent to the spot to verify the facts," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Vinay Choubey.

'Janak' houses a gymnasium and some offices of the Bachchans, he said, adding that none of the family members stay in the house.

Samajwadi Party leader and Bachchan's close friend Amar Singh said that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray was behind the attack.

The incident comes in the wake of reports about a similar episode at the Bachchans' residence 'Pratiksha' during the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena-led campaign against north Indian migrants earlier this month.
