Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] and Congress President Sonia Gandhi [Images] on Wednesday  night discussed the issues related to Indo-US nuclear deal with senior leaders of the party.

The meeting took place soon after the UPA-Left Committee meeting which failed to end the deadlock between the two sides on the issue.

Besides Singh and Sonia, the meeting was attended by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A K Antony and Congress President's political secretary Ahmed Patel.

Mukherjee and Antony are understood to have apprised the party leadership of the deliberations of the UPA-Left committee meeting.
