A 12-year-old boy, who was seriously injured along with his father and younger brother in the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad [Images], succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, taking the death count in the terror attacks to 54.

Rohan Vyas was admitted along with his father and brother to the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital's Trauma Centre which was targeted by terrorists on July 26. A total of 23 people had died in the attack on the hospital, the highest number of casualties on a day when 19 bombs went off in the city.

Rohan's father Dushyant, who worked as laboratory assistant in the hospital, died soon after he was admitted to the hospital while his younger brother Yash is still undergoing treatment at the special burns ward.

Geeta, Rohan's mother is numbed after losing her husband and her son who had suffered 80 per cent burns. Yash had suffered 50 per cent burns and still is unaware about the deaths in his family.

On that fateful day, Rohan and Yash had come to the open space in front of the Trauma Centre to ride their bicycle along with their father.

While riding the bicycles they came near the entrance of the Trauma Centre when the car bomb exploded, seriously injuring all three.
