Curbing the cycle of terror
July 30, 2008

Terror can come from anywhere. From cycles to trains to cars. Yet, the humble cycle has become terrorists' most-effective tool to carry out blasts as was evident in Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

So, all suspicious eyes are all on the cycle now. No wonder then, the Mumbai police are seen frisking here (see the photograph) a cyclist outside the historic Chattrapathi Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The police may have been strict in their duty, but what the cyclist feels --  a vada pav seller -- feels is a different story altogether.  Keeping the bigger picture in mind, perhaps such scrutinies don't matter.
