Two days after winning the trust vote, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] on Thursday met President Pratibha Patil [Images] and briefed her about the special session in the Lok Sabha.

A Rashtrapati Bhavan [Images] spokesperson said that the meeting lasted 25 minutes during which the President was informed about the deliberations of Lok Sabha's special session among other issues. The session ended on Tuesday.

The meeting was the second in a fortnight after the Prime Minister met the President on July 10 after the Left parties withdrew support to the United Progressive Alliance government.

The spokesperson said the Prime Minister also briefed the President about other issues of national and international importance.
