The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam would seek the disqualification of two of its Members of Parliament who defied the party whip and voted in favour of the confidence motion moved by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

L Ganesan and Gingee Ramachandran, the two dissident MPs, had defied the whip and voted in favour of the motion. Party leader C Krishnan would soon write to Speaker Somnath Chatterjee seeking their disqualification, party sources told PTI.

They said party leader Vaiko has already informed Chatterjee about the activities of the two MPs. Now that they had defied the whip, they attracted disqualification under the anti-defection law, they said.
