This satirical illustration on the cover of The New Yorker magazine, depicting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama dressed in traditional Arab garb and his wife Michelle Obama dressed in military fatigues and carrying an assault rifle, is generating controversy.
The Obama campaign has had to fight an intensive e-mail spam campaign that claims Obama is secretly a Muslim, and his wife is an African-American radical.
