With the political developments in Goa coming as a surprise, Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar [Images] on Wednesday night warned his party MLAs that they would face extreme action if they go ahead with moves to withdraw support to the Congress-led coalition.

Pawar told PTI that his enquiries with the state Governor as also the Chief Minister revealed that they have not received any communication from the three party MLAs.

Noting that the NCP wanted the stability of the Digambar Kamat government, he said the legislators could air their grievances to the party leadership.

Hoping that a way out could be found through dialogue and discussions, he suggested that failure to heed to the party could invite extreme action.

In this regard, he recalled a decision of the Bombay High Court, which held that the refusal to listen to the party directive amounted to anti-defection attracting disqualification from the Assembly.
