Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has asked party workers to help the needy on her birthday, instead of coming to the state capital or New Delhi to greet her.

The BSP leader has asked the party leaders and workers at the district level to collect donations in cash and kind and distribute it to the needy who should be identified before hand, sources said.

She has suggested that the party workers should include the common man in the celebrations to mark her 52nd birthday on January 15.

On her birthday, Mayawati is expected to be very busy as she would lay the foundation stone for over 1000-km-long Noida to Ballia Ganga Expressway Project.

According to official sources, the CM will address a press conference in the state capital at 1000 hrs on January 15 after meeting the BSP leaders and workers to accept their greetings on her birthday.

Later, she will fly to Ballia to lay the foundation stone of the Ganga Expressway project. From Ballia, the CM will fly to New Delhi where she will address a press conference and later will go to Noida to lay the foundation stone of the Ganga Expressway.

Sources said the CM will celebrate her birthday in a simple manner.

Meanwhile, the bid for the Ganga Expressway will be opened on January 14 when the government will announce the names of the company who will be awarded the contract.
