India observing Pak developments: Antony

India is keenly watching the developments in Pakistan in the aftermath of Benazir Bhutto's [Images] assassination with concern and it hopes that normalcy is restored in that country at the earliest, Defence Minister A K Antony said on Wednesday.

"We have nothing to say about the internal matters of Pakistan at a time when many a problem with them is being resolved through talks," Antony said.

Violence anywhere will be put down with a strong hand, he said.

On a question regarding the difficulties faced by tribal people in Naxal-affected areas, Antony said steps had been taken to solve their problems and the issue was discussed at the meeting of chief ministers convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] recently.

Antony also said stringent measures will be taken to punish those involved in corrupt activities in the defence forces.
