He was arrested for his role in the Surat riots case. And all this time the man was out on bail and was even reporting to the police station once a week in Bangalore.

However, after January he stopped doing so. This man, apart from being involved in the riots case, is also accused in the train blasts case in Mumbai.

Sayed Sameer was a contractor dealing with aluminium pipes and was closely associated with Yahya Khan Kammakutty, the software engineer and president of the Karnataka unit of the banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India.

The last time he was seen was when Khan was arrested by the Bangalore police. Both of them were seen together in a hotel before Khan was picked up. Sameer managed to give the slip and now a massive manhunt has been launched to find this man.

Investigations revealed that Sameer had information about the train blasts and was closely associated with Junaid, another suspect in the same case.

Scientific tests conducted on Junaid recently revealed that Sameer was aware of the blasts and also that he had a lot of information regarding the case.

It is also being said that Sameer played a key role in the Surat riots and was also informed well in advance about the blasts that took place in Hyderabad.

Sameer was in Bangalore since the past one year and was working along with Khan in the recruitment of youths for SIMI.

Sameer was arrested earlier for his role in the Surat riots case, but was released on bail a few months after his arrest.

Since then he was in Bangalore and had been participating actively in propagating terror along with several other persons.

As per the court directive which granted him bail, he had to report to a police station in Bangalore.

The last time Sameer reported to the police was in the month of January. However, he stopped doing so after the Karnataka terror plot was foiled.

The arrest of Sameer will help the cops obtain a lot of information regarding a number of incidents that have rocked the country in the past few years. A hunt for 11 of his accomplices has also been launched.
