Primary sections of all Delhi schools, which were ordered to close due to severe cold conditions in the city, reopened on Monday.

The Delhi government had ordered the closure of primary sections of all schools,  including private institutions, for three days on January 29 due to the chilly conditions in the capital.

The decision to reopen the schools was taken following improvement in the weather conditions, senior Delhi government officials said.

The step to close the schools had been taken as several parents had been approaching the government to close the primary sections due to cold conditions.

The order covered all schools -- private, government-aided and government-run.
