The magnificent tigers of Ranthambore

February 1, 2008
The increase in the number of tigers at the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan is attracting tourists -- both domestic and foreign -- lending a major boost to tourism in the region.

Officials of the park in the desert state said that according to the tiger census in 2005, there were around 26 tigers and they had 14 new cubs in 2006.

They also noticed pugmarks of 6 new cubs, which was an encouraging sign for their conservation efforts.
