Stepping up its attack on actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi [Images], the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh today said the Praja Rajyam president is asking for a chance for his party out of lust for power. "Chiranjeevi is urging people to give him a chance. We can see his true colours now. After a career in films, he has chosen politics as his new profession," Congress Chief Whip N Kirankumar Reddy told reporters. "Y S Rajasekhara Reddy became Chief Minister after a 25-year-long public life. Chiranjeevi is seeking power within months of launching his political party. The Congress is sure to return to power as the state government has earned enormous goodwill," he said. Training his guns on TDP, Reddy said the Opposition party's Chief N Chandrababu Naidu [Images] has formed an alliance with the Left parties whom he had criticised while in power. "Even if Praja Rajyam joins this combination, the Congress will not be perturbed. We will come back to power," he said.
