UN keeps a watch on J&K crisis August 13, 2008 23:57 IST The United Nations is monitoring the situation arising out of the violence in Kashmir but does have any 'extensive comments' to make at this stage, a spokesman of the world body said on Wednesday. Situation very tense in Srinagar Replying to a question by a Pakistani correspondent who had asked whether the United Nations is aware that Kashmir is becoming a 'hot spot' now, associate spokesman Farhan Haq said United Nations human rights officials are also aware of it and are "determining whether to make any comment." Uttam's Take: The turmoil in J&K Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is also aware of the situation, he said. "I don't have anything further to say at present," he added.
