Sonia concludes 3-day trip to Beijing August 09, 2008 21:17 IST UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi [Images] left for New Delhi [Images] on Saturday evening after attending the Olympics opening ceremony. Sonia met Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping during her visit and an MoU was also signed between the Congress and the ruling Communist Party of China aimed at promoting regular party-to-party exchanges. After cheering the Indian contingent at Olympic opening ceremony she had also attended a banquet hosted for visiting foreign dignitaries by Chinese President Hu Jintao. During the opening ceremony Sonia stood and waved enthusiastically as soon as the 56-member IndianĀ delegation led by shooter Rajyawardhan Singh Rathore entered the 'Bird's Nest' stadium at the Olympic Village in the Chinese Capital.
