A constable of the Border Security Force allegedly committed suicide after shooting and injuring a head constable at the Kaptoli border outpost, under the Sabroom subdivision of South Tripura district, police said in Agartala on Tuesday.

Constable Vidyadhar shot head constable Rameswar Dayal with his service rifle, following an altercation over the allocation of duty and then shot himself, police said.

The head constable is being treated at a local hospital and his condition is reportedly critical.
