BJP calls core committee meeting to discuss Munde

The Bharatiya Janata Party convened a meeting of the party's core committee on Monday to discuss the resignation of senior Maharashtra leader Gopinath Munde. On Sunday, Munde had tendered his resignation from the post of party general secretary and all other organisational posts.

The BJP leadership had called Munde and Maharashtra BJP chief Nitin Gadkari to Delhi to sort out their differences. .

Senior leaders including L K Advani, Jaswant Singh, Yashwant Sinha, Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley participated in the meeting.

After the meeting, Rajnath Singh told mediapersons that Gadkari had arrived in New Delhi and Munde was expected to arrive late on Monday night or early on Tuesday morning.

Incidentally, the BJP has also called a meeting of its Parliamentary Affairs Committee on Tuesday.
