Congress leader Rahul Gandhi [Images] has no regrets about rejecting an offer from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] to join his council of ministers.

Rahul, a Congress general secretary in-charge of youth wing of the party, said he would be showing disrespect to the people he represents if he did not do the job assigned to him, sources close to him said.

The Amethi MP said he did not want to take two-three jobs and not do justice to any one of it, they said.

The Gandhi scion is understood to have been offered the post of a minister of state in the recent reshuffle-cum-expansion of the union council of ministers.

He is believed to have said that 'one man, one post' was not a problem with him as his priority was to rejuvenate the Youth Congress. Rahul said he does not like heroes because the system does not work when they are around.
