Union Commerce Minister Kamal Nath escaped unhurt when a temporary dais occupied by him and 40 others collapsed in Harda district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday morning.

The wooden structure at Rehatgaon near Timarni in this district was erected for the election campaign in favour of Sukhdev Panse, Congress candidate for Lok Sabha by-election in Betul constituency.

Nath and Panse did not suffer any injury, police said, adding that few workers suffered bruises.

Later, Nath addressed the meeting on another dais put up by Congress workers using mattresses.
