The power transfer in Karnataka will be a smooth affair as former prime minister and senior Janata Dal(U) leader HD Deve Gowda was not against it, BJP president Rajnath Singh said on Friday.

Speaking to mediapersons after a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva [Images] Morcha, Singh said that BJP's in-charge of Karnataka affairs Yashwant Sinha would go to the state  to hold talks with the party's unit.
On mid-term parliamentary polls, he said that it cannot be ruled out and added the party is prepared for it.

He said that internal security, soaring prices, national security, minority appeasement policy and indecisiveness  of the United Progressive Alliance's government would be the major poll planks of the party. Singh added that the Ram Setu is not an election issue. "It is a national issue," he added.
