JK bus mishap: 11 killed

Eleven labourers were killed and nine others wounded, when the truck carrying them rolled into a deep gorge at Namkeela village on the Leh Srinagar [Images] national highway, over 200 km from Srinagar Friday.

Police said the truck carrying the labourers to Kargil, went out of the drivers control and rolled down into a 100 metre deep gorge, killing ten on the spot and wounding an equal number.

One of the critically injured person succumbed to injuries in the Kargil district hospital where the injured are being treated.

Attending doctors have described the condition of four more labourers as critical.

Rescue and relief operation was mounted on a war footing by the district administration.
