With some pockets of eastern Uttar Pradesh facing a drought-like situation, the old ritual of marriage of frogs was organised in Varanasi to please the rain god.

Five priests performed puja at the Mahendevi hostel in Lanka area of the city, organised by Shahar Dakshini Vikash Sangharsh Samiti.

People believe the 'yagya' and rituals please the rain god. Hundreds of people gathered at the venue to watch the unique ceremony.
