Image: Bilal's father breaks down
September 13, 2007

Bilal's fatherTerror suspect Mohammed Shahid Bilal's father Mohammed Waheduddin breaks down while interacting with the media outside his house at Moosaram Bagh in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The media rushed to him after reports that Shahid Bilal was killed by Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence in Karachi 13 days ago.

The distraught father said he had no idea about the veracity of reports.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police M A Basith said the state police had not received any information yet from the Pakistan government about the killing of Shahed alias Bilal in Karachi.

Basith said, ''The police cannot confirm the killing of Bilal until we receive an official report from the Pakistan authorities."

''So far, Karachi police have not submitted a report on the death of Bilal to me,'' the DGP added.

Reports from Pakistan said Shahed alias Bialal, the alleged mastermind in the August 25 twin blasts and May 18 Mecca Masjid blasts, which claimed more than 50 lives, was killed by the ISI.

Shahed, hailing from Hyderabad, was the commander of Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami and was conducting terrorist activities from Bangladesh since several years.

Recent reports said Shahed fled to Dubai immediately after the twin blasts that rocked Hyderabad city.
