Notwithstanding Trinamool Congress chief Mamta Banerjee's hint of snapping ties with the National Democratic Alliance, BJP president Rajnath Singh on Monday said the party was still an ally of the NDA.

"'I don't know what she has said, but she has not severed ties with NDA,'' Singh told reporters in Kolkata after his arrival from Delhi, en route to Agartala.

To a question that Mamta did not attend the dinner meeting of opposition leader L K Advani on Tuesday, Singh said, "You should not look at it that way."

The TC leader, who also arrived by the same flight from Delhi, did not comment whether her party was leaving NDA or was for an understanding with the Congress. Mamta said she would watch the relationship between the Congress and CPI-M.

"We are a separate political party. We will decide our strategy depending on the future political scenario," she said.
