A high-level Bharatiya Janata Party delegation, led by L K Advani and Rajnath Singh, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images], on the crisis in the Karnataka government formation.

The leaders asked prime minister to take steps for revocation of the President's rule to facilitate formation of a government in the state.

The prime minister assured the delegation that the Centre would go by the spirit of the Constitution, but did not give any specific timeframe, said BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu.
