Sanjay Dutt being taken to Pune jail
October 22, 2007

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt [Images] left for Yerawada jail in Pune on Monday night after he surrendered before the designated TADA court here on receiving copy of the judgment in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.

Dutt, along with his friend Yusuf Nallwala, was taken in a police van at 2035 hrs from the Arthur Road jail, where he was placed after his surrender in the afternoon.

Electronic media personnel and photographers were seen following the police van, moving under heavy escort.

Dutt will be lodged in the same cell in Yerawada and would go through the same schedule, which he had been going through prior to his release on interim bail on August 23.

As soon as Dutt arrives in the jail, he will be taken to the tailoring room, from where he will receive his jail clothes. Though Dutt has requested the court to allow him to wear normal clothes, it will be at the sole discretion of the jail authorities. He will be sharing his cell with Nallwala.
