The Allahabad high court on Friday fixed October 9 for final hearing of the writ petition filed by megastar Amitabh Bachchan [Images] challenging the order of the Faizabad commissioner canceling the allotment of a farmland in his favour in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district.

Justice A N Srivastava of the Lucknow Bench posted the matter for further hearing on October 9 after Bachchan's counsel filed the rejoinder affidavit.

The court rejected an application moved by one Ram Chander seeking to implead himself in the matter on the ground that he owned the land in question.

Bachchan has filed a petition in the court challenging the commissioner's order canceling the allotment of the farmland to him in Daulatpur village in Barabanki district during the previous Samajwadi Party regime.
