With the transfer of power in Karnataka turning out to be a major political headache, Bharatiya Janata Party's top brass is meeting in Delhi on Thursday to ensure installation of the first saffron-led government in the south even as ally Janata Dal-Secular continued to play traunt.

A meeting of the BJP parliamentary board is being held at a time when former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and his JD-S has given no signal of a change of guard while his son and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has gone to the extent of dubbing the BJP actions as "childish".

The task has become delicate with all BJP ministers in the state putting in their papers en masse to put pressure on Kumaraswamy who continues to strike a defiant note amid JD-S assertions that any decision was possible only after the October 5 meeting of its political affairs committee in Delhi.

The BJP parliamentary board meeting will see party in charge of Karnataka Yashwant Sinha, who will arrive in Delhi along with Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediurappa on Thursday morning, to brief top leaders on his parleys with JD-S leaders and state leaders and legislators over the last five days.

The top BJP leadership is meeting a day ahead of the crucial one-to-one discussions between BJP chief Rajnath Singh and JD-S supremo Deve Gowda on Friday to sort out the row which erupted when the JD-S has completed its quota of 20 months in power and refused to hand over the baton to the BJP for the remaining 20 months.

Incidentally, the Congress is watching the developments with interest, given the fact that the tussle going out of hand could be politically beneficial to it.
