In an attempt to further embarrass the Left Front government in West Bengal, the Bharatia Janata Party has decided to raise the Taslima issue in Parliament on Tuesday.

The decision was taken at a Parliamentary party meeting of the BJP which met in New Delhi.

It has been decided that the party will demand extension of visa and security to the Bangladeshi writer. "This is not for the first time that the country will do so. We have the precedence of doing so for Tibetans as well," deputy leader of BJP in Lok Sabha, V K Malhotra, said.

Last week, the saffron party had forced a debate in the House on the Nandigram issue.

Malhotra said that the party will also take up the issue of recent violence in Assam and police action on the people of Indian origin in Malaysia.

According to sources, Opposition leader L K Advani is understood to have conveyed to all party members to maintain a united approach on the issues to be raised in the House.
