Nandigram: PM calls up West Bengal CM

Returning from his Russia [Images] visit, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] on Tuesday spoke to West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee over telephone to ascertain the latest situation in Nandigram.

The chief minister apprised the prime minister in detail of the situation Nandigram, CPI(M) sources said. Singh's call came when Bhattacharjee was going to the Raj Bhavan to meet Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi after holding a press conference at the state secretariat.
