November 04, 2007 18:11 IST
Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh said the government formation in Karnataka should be on the basis of the agreement entered into between his party and the JD (S) 19 months ago.
"We are firm on our stand that government formation should be on the basis of the old agreement," he said at Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.
"We have started a dialogue with the JD(S) to avoid mid-term poll in the state, he said. Without taking any name, the BJP chief said public interest should get precedence over individual interest.
