The Gujarat CID probing the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case has issued a lookout notice for one of its own officers whose role is under scanner, a source in the agency said on Wednesday.

The lookout notice was issued on Tuesday evening, after Gujarat CID team that raided his bunglow in the city did not find him there, the source said.

The official under scrutiny, N K Amin, is a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the CID and worked previously under D G Vanzara -- the seniormost IPS officer arrested in the fake encounter case.

Though sources in the agency indicated that the CID team went to Amin's house with the intention to arrest him, senior officials refused to speak on the matter when contacted.

Though Amin was not part of Gujarat's Anti-Terrorist Squad that was involved in the fake encounter as he was with the crime branch, CID officials are probing his role based on the statement of one of the arrested policemen who claimed that he was present when Kausar Bi, Sohrabuddin's wife's, body was disposed of a few days after he was killed.
